Cinco Ranch
Cinco Ranch is a planned area within Katy Texas. It is full of great neighborhoods. This is a wonderful place to raise your children. There are many things for the family to do. Residents have access to walking trails, parks, swimming pools, a swimming lagoon, and bike trails. It is also a pet friendly community.
The schools are also some of the best in the area. They are also very convenient. Some children are able to walk or ride their bikes to schools.
If you don’t want to live in a house you can always have the convenience of an apartment. There are several great apartment complexes within the planned community.

Nasa Space Center Houston
It is only about an hour away from Katy. It has so much to offer families at affordable prices. They even have group rates. The space center has a Level 9 Tour. This is reserved for only 12 people each day. This tour takes you behind the scenes where all the important work is done. You get to go and see where the astronauts eat and work. They also offer day camps for children and scout camps. This is a great opportunity for your children to experience NASA on their own.
There are so many things to do at the Houston Space Center. They have a the Space Center Theater and it has a 5 story screen. Also there is the Blast Off Theater where you can experience the feel of being an astronaut. There is also an astronaut gallery that displays the photos of former astronauts and events.
The feel of space is another opportunity for visitors to experience being in space. Here they show you what it would be like to be aboard the space station. Another exciting exhibit is the Starship Gallery which has lots of old equipment and space shuttles that have been used in missions. Lastly there is the Kids Space Place where kids can explore and experience things that would be in a space shuttle.
What a great place to go with the family. It is fun but also educational. Check out their dining also. NASA Space Center of Houston has a variety of foods to offer your family. Great food and entertainment for the family all in one place.
Katy Mills Mall
Katy Mills is a 1.3 million-square-foot mall. They have 200 great stores, a food court, various themed restaurants, and a 20 screen movie theater. This is a great mall filled with lots of name brand outlets you will love. They have tons of great restaurants also for the family.

George Bush Park
Katy has so many places for families to enjoy but one of my favorites is the George Bush Park. There is so much to do here. They have soccer fields, baseball fields, shooting ranges, picnic areas, model plane flying fields, walking trails, an equestrian area, pavilions, playgrounds and even a dog park. This 7,800 acre park has everything your family needs to enjoy a day out.
Great Restaurants!
Katy is so full of great dining establishments. I have chosen a few that I love and hope that you will also.
- Black Eyed Pea- great house salad-yummy meatloaf-juicy hamburgers
- Fuzzy’s Pizza(I know it has a wierd name but it is so good)-wonderful pizza
- Outback Steakhouse-great steaks of course but you have to try their shrimp(they are so gigantic and so juicy)loved it!
- Souper Salads-wow! If you love all kinds of soup or salads this is the place for you. great!
- Johnny Carino’s-great pastas!
- Jason’s Deli- I usually get the big chef salad- it is so big! also has great baked potatoes and if you like to eat healthy many things are their menu is just that!
- Marble Slab Creamery-yummy icecream and banana splits
- James Coney Island- if you love the atmosphere of happy days go here. The service is great and so is the food. try the corn dog nuggets they are good.
